About the role

For the USA and Canada entities, the Accounting Manager directs and reviews the workflow and personnel duties for Cost Accounting, Credit and Collections, and Accounts Payable to ensure the accurate and complete processing of financial transactions and an effective system of internal control. Provides expert technical, system, and administrative services associated with shared service and accounting functions. Mentors and coaches team members to broaden system (SAP), procedural, and accounting knowledge. Ensures department goals, objectives, and deadlines are met. Maintain high level of internal controls to ensure controls meet review of Internal and External Audits.


Recruit, train, develop, manage, and review the performance and work of team members. Deliver continuous process improvements in both systems and processes. Manage and assign responsibility to staff to enhance their professional development and provide staff with training and continuous improvement opportunities.

Cost Accounting

Ensure the reconciliation process of inventory related accounts and monthly journal entries are completed, reviewed, and confirmed for accuracy. Review and analyze the process and provide any needed collaboration within A/P, production, operations, and warehouse/logistics teams to rectify any inefficiency or errors.

Balance Sheet

Ensure that all assets and liabilities within inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable are recorded properly, reconciled, and analyzed for accuracy, control, and insight monthly.

Credit Control & Collections

Review credit workflows to ensure clear communication and process between internal business partners and customers. Establish SLA credit and collection standards and ensure proper control is in place to promptly collect and efficiently apply incoming cash from customers.

Accounts Payable

Ensure timely and accurate entry of liabilities and subsequent timely payment to suppliers. Establish SLA standards with business partners, measuring and reporting on KPIs to identify core strengths and improvement areas within our process.

Financial Systems

Ensure that the department has the systems to support current and future financial accounting and transactional processing. Provide subject matter expertise and be a power user to identify issues, coordinate training of staff, and implement system enhancements to improve the efficiency and controls within the above areas of A/P, Credit Control & Collections, and Cost Accounting.

About you
  • Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent experience MBA, SSBB, CMA, or another credential is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of external systems, preferably SAP (S/4 HANA), prior in-depth involvement in system conversion or implementation a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with staff at all levels.
  • Experience of leading a team and direction of a finance function.
  • Experience of working in a strategic capacity to deliver transformation and change
  • Outgoing, persuasive, and a confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be adept at communicating financial concepts and results to non-finance personnel.
  • Demonstrated problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team; demonstrated ability to partner with other departments.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment.

Position is located in Cary, NC. Remote during the pandemic.
