POSITION SUMMARY
The APG Clinical Safety Coordinator performs all related duties necessary to ensure the safety of all patients, staff, visitors, and equipment. Supports compliance with regulatory standards related to clinical practice, such as NJ DOH, OSHA.
The APG Clinical Safety Coordinator devotes attention to clinical quality assurance in medical practice offices. Ensures compliance on CLIS/CLIA, point of care policies and procedures, infection prevention guidelines, patient care equipment instructions for use (IFU). Communicates and provides recommendations to site and senior APG leadership for accountability. Provides education to office staff.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement activities and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. This positions supports compliance with organizational polices and strategic initiatives, including but not limited to: infection prevention/universal protocols, high level disinfectant, procedural infection compliance, unexpected epidemic events, medical device maintenance, antibiotic stewardship.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid NJ Driver's License required.
EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years of clinical experience, such as medical assistant, required. 2-3 years supervisory experience in medical practice office setting preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, project management skills, interpersonal and organization skills required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the healthcare environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires travel, sitting at a desk or computer a majority of the day, with frequent walking and standing.
