WWFs internship program vision is to recruit professionals early in their careers who bring fresh thinking and innovation to the environmental and conservation sector and are well positioned to develop into the next generation of leaders. Our mission is to increase exposure of students from underrepresented populations to conservation and environmental careers, provide professional development opportunities, reduce the barriers to attracting a diverse pool of internship candidates, and develop a pipeline for future WWF hires from underrepresented populations.

Position Summary

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the worlds leading conservation organizations, seeks a Program Operations Financial Reporting/Agreements Intern with the Program Operations department.

This position provides the opportunity to gain valuable experience in NGO financial reporting and agreements management working in Workday Adaptive Planning and Smart Simple, while supporting the world's leading conservation organization. WWF's Program Operations team is seeking a paid intern to assist in reviewing existing reports generated by Workday and Adaptive, and to work with teams to identify additional reporting needs. In addition, as we close the fiscal year, this position will help close outgoing funding agreements with partners.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with numbers, detail-oriented, and hard-working. You will be a member of a very supportive, dynamic program operations team, learning and working with systems that are used widely in business and not-for-profits. Responsibilities may include:

  • Conducts inventory of financial reporting library in Workday Adaptive Planning,
  • Organizes online directory of financial reports with descriptions (report elements)
  • Interviews budget managers to create detailed list of additional financial reports needed
  • Organizes and assists in generating and compiling Workday reports for FY22 obligation upload
  • Assist in the closeout of outgoing agreements in Workday and SmartSimple (grant management software), coordinate with both budget managers and agreement coordinators to ensure all requirements for closeout are met

Skills and Abilities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Stellar attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Learning Outcomes

  • Experience with management financial reports and donor reports
  • Experience working with Workday Adaptive Planning systems systems used across many businesses and not-for-profit organizations
  • Learn critical components of Government subagreements and close out requirements
  • Experience working with a welcoming, high performing professional team


  • Undergraduate student (or recently graduated)
  • Accounting and/or finance course experience is a plus
  • A commitment to the mission, goals and values of WWF
  • Identifies and aligns with the core values of the WWF organization: Courage, Integrity, Respect & Collaboration


US Remote WWF employs interns in all states with the exception of: Alabama, Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Wyoming.


Paid - $15 per hour (35 hours per week)

One time stipend net $100
