JOB SUMMARY:

Design and development a growth strategy for the spread of technology and data protocols to improve care coordination supporting integrated, value-based care Lead the development of innovative solutions for person-centered care measurement and end-user health data exchange. Utilizing improvement methodology, work with care teams to advance the understanding and implementation of effective technology into care flow design. Work with internal teams and external partners to oversee the analysis, management, and performance of health information data and disseminate learnings in support of developing best practices.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with internal and external stakeholders, develop and utilize processes that improve utility of technology and data sharing that support integrated, value-based care within clinical and community settings.
  • Lead the process to improve interoperability challenges and data exchange within enterprise initiatives
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with consultants, vendors and external partners focused on care coordination and interconnectivity to grow visibility and demand for oral health interoperability.
  • Grow engagement of health payers, purchasers and state-based health data entities in enterprise initiatives, pilots and prototypes
  • Oversee knowledge and document management processes for projects, including connecting across the organization
  • Direct resolutions with end-users to develop a HIT system that provides ease of use and understandability of how technology can drive improved outcomes.
  • Create and utilize comprehensive testing strategy including test plans, criteria for ideal testing partners, and technology needs that support interoperability.
  • Collaborate with Analytics and Data Insights to improve the process to extract and collect healthcare clinical, quality improvement, and financial data.
  • Provide thought leadership around care coordination and interconnectivity, including creation of educational content, speaking at conferences and co-authoring publications
  • Plan project activities, including virtual or in-person meetings, and webinars
  • Other duties as needed or required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Masters degree in relevant field, such as Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business or Data Science
  • 2 years of experience with querying and analyzing data from various EDR or EHR sources including, HL7 interfaces or EHR vendor APIs is required.
  • Knowledge of one or more key health data standards, including: HL7, FHIR, CDA, CCD, eCQM and Meaningful Use, Standard Code Systems (CPT, ICD, SNOMED, RxNorm, etc.), and working knowledge of HIPAA data security requirements.
  • [ET1] Understanding of federal health policy issues, and ability to work in multiple areas as a subject matter expert on health information technology
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to document and explain schema elements, overall architecture, and system-approach to varying levels of staff.
  • Superior organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including virtual.
  • Proficient with general computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make good judgment conclusions based on data available with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to apply principles of structured project management and prioritize and organize multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Attends additional training as requested/deemed necessary.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of hospital, physician, or dental practice clinical documentation and revenue management workflows is desirable.
  • Certification in Improvement processes and/or Project Management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and sitting is required in carrying out position responsibilities (i.e., use of personal computer).
  • Ability to travel as projects dictate or move about within and outside office facilities required.
  • Ability to maintain inventory closets with boxes of materials needing to be lifted and/or shifted.
  • Ability to pack and unpack materials and exhibit booths.
  • Ability to work in a traditional professional office setting or remote equivalent -- primarily in a shared office environment.
  • Ability to communicate via telephone and work in virtual teams.
