POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Contract Manufacturing Manager will play an integral role in Balchem's success by supporting all product lines for the Powders and Cereal business.
  • To accomplish this, the Contract Manufacturing Manager must demonstrate strong leadership skills, be comfortable driving cross-functional change initiatives, and assist in implementing a strategic roadmap for Business Unit.
  • This individual will manage all aspects of contract manufacturing business. This includes, but is not limited to, contract negotiations, prospecting new potential customers for contract manufacturing services, coordinating trials, managing commercialization process for new launches, supporting Pricing Manager to align with pricing strategy.
  • This position will act as a key contact for specified contract manufacturing customers and will be liaison between Purchasing, Customer Service, Plant Operations, Research and Development, and Commercial teams to support customers needs.
  • The role will be responsible for assisting in driving implementation of commercial strategies, assist in identifying, prioritizing, and managing market development activities, develop knowledge base on industry and segments, and provide internal support to sales team when there is crossover with account management.
  • The position will focus on implementing short-term tactical and long-term strategic initiatives related all contract manufacturing within Business Unit as set by the Business Director and Product Managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Contract Manufacturing Manager

  • Act as support for key internal stakeholders on any contract manufacturing issues. Demonstrates flexibility, strong communication skills and ability to solve problems.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to improve communication flow and effectiveness and reduce risk.
  • Supports the Business Unit Leadership Team to prioritize activities and support needed to ensure consistency with strategy and budgeted business.

Strategy and Growth

  • Helps implement and support commercial strategies to reach annual budget requirements.
  • Help support marketing programs and business strategies with sales and technical personnel
  • Assist Product Manager to identify, prioritize, and manage all support request across sales, customer service, marketing, operations, and supply chain.

REQUIRMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a business-related discipline
  • Preferred 5-10 years of related experience with a preference of operations and supply chain experience in the food or supplement industry. Management of an external supply chain is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong leadership qualities when working with cross functional teams
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Effective analysis/problem solving/decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
  • Organizational skills for efficient office control are mandatory.
  • Solid decision-making skills.
