Associations Mission: To lead and position community clinics, health centers and networks through advocacy, education, and services as key players in the health care delivery system to improve the health status of their communities.

Purpose of Position: This position manages daily, monthly, and annual deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger maintenance, project reporting, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation.Incumbent will perform general accounting and administrative functions related to local, state, and federal grants, contracts, and restricted contributions in accordance with contract and regulatory compliance. Position will also perform professional accounting activities for specialized, complex and/or functional areas requiring knowledge and application of accounting principles, practices, and techniques in accordance with GAAP.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversight in processes to track, review, analyze and reconcile all project-related activities to financials and other related reports.
  • Review of all accounts payable, payroll, and revenue activity with regards to project-related activities.
  • Collaborate with department team members to compile project budgets.
  • Prepare monthly project financial reports.
  • Meet with department team members regularly to provide updates on project financial activity.
  • Oversee monthly payroll allocation entries related to funding activities.
  • Prepare invoices and reports to funders in accordance with funder specifications and ensure compliance to all contracts.
  • Reconciliation of project related balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain employee time and attendance in relation to project financial activity.
  • Maintains general ledger accounts and reviews accuracy of transactions.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial preparation.
  • Assist the Deputy Director of Finance with month end analysis and other ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Supervise Finance Coordinator
  • Serve as the backup for accounts payable.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  2. Flexibility,solid time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
  3. Strong interpersonal and professional aiblity when engaging with vendors and partners
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Srong proficiency with Microsoft Office, and web-based applications and software like QBO, Sage Intaact
  6. Manage multiple projects, plan strategically, and adapt to frequent change in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement. Minimum two years of accounting experience. Experience with HRSA or other federal grant programs is highly desirable. Experience with community health centers, member-driven associations or non-profit organizations is also preferred.

Association Expectation:

Due to network security this position requires the employee to have a cell phone with a data plan and home internet service, both are reimbursed at a set rate each month. All hires are required to maintain residence in California. This is a hybrid position with employees coming into the office.

Compensation: $84,657 94,065 + Excellent Benefits
