Grad Intern - Ops (Drug Product Technologies)

Let's do this. Let's change the world. During this program, the intern will be project manager and key driver to successful implementation of a UI for evaluating instrumentation. The scope of this project will directly impact hundreds of employees, while building the framework for wholesale adoption across the Amgen network; including but not limited to R&D, PD, and QC.

The intern will be responsible for: creation of a fit-to-purpose data processing workflow as well as front end UI, interfacing with key stakeholders, and presentation of project output to a functional vice president and their executive leadership team. This internship is a superb opportunity for a candidate to own, create, and present, their own project while progressing personal development in several areas.

Working with Drug Product Technologies - Business Planning and Operations leads, the selected intern will:

Build an automated workflow for data processing, pulling data from several different data sources, and generating a single data output platform Create a UI using Tableau to display an interactive view of the data output file generated from step "A". This UI will display the following abilities:

Display all instrumentation cross-located against building blueprints.

Enables rapid assessment of any single instrument selected from the map providing relevant details including but not limited to, asset #, lifecycle management (LCM), preventative maintenance (PM) data, work orders (WO) placed, age of equipment, related documentation, etc.

Allows for global assessment of all instruments within the database with the ability to sort, and highlight, this registry according to factors including length of time since last PM, proximity to LCM update, and number of WO's placed over a defined period of time.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master's program for a Master's internship and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master's program before internship starts
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Enthusiasm in applying or learning data analysis
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary team environment
  • Familiarity with lab equipment is preferred
  • Familiarity with SQL, VBA, R, Python, Tableau, Spotfire and Alteryx is preferred
  • Bachelors in a STEM or related field is preferred.
  • Data analysis experience or an interest in learning data analysis
  • Strong interpersonal abilities preferably with a proven ability to drive cross-functional projects
