Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, mature, team-oriented, and motivated individual with proactive problem-solving and great communication skills to play a vital role in supporting innovative research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and women's global reproductive health. The Research Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating a major research grant. This flexible and committed team player will coordinate across multiple stakeholders and will play an essential role in supporting this transformative work by implementing research activities as described in funded grant application; setting up and managing grant processes; recruiting stakeholders and vendors; scheduling and managing all meetings; tracking and filing all study materials; tracking expenditures and managing the project budget; and ensuring compliance with relevant agreements and policies. This is a two-year grant funded contract position at 20 hours per week and is not benefit eligible. The position is totally online and only US-based applicants will be considered.

Essential Functions

  • Works under general and specific supervision; reports to Principal Investigator (PI)
  • Identifies, vets and recruits members of the scientific advisory board (SAB) and business advisory board (BAB) under close direction of PI and project team members
  • Coordinates all RFPs and vendor presentations
  • Coordinates communications between technology and scientific partners and the SAB, BAB and project partners (i.e. prepares and tracks communications between SAB and AI during machine learning and knowledge model creation, schedules research activities, and tracks NDAs and contracts set up between the project and study partners)
  • Develops communications, protocols, procedures and other project materials as required
  • Assists with the preparation of meeting materials (agendas and minutes)
  • Maintains accurate, organized, and complete files of all project activities
  • Schedules all meetings (via Zoom and calendar invitations)
  • Collects reports from the AI technology partner of progress at milestones
  • Assists with communications and milestone reporting to grantor
  • Works with SAB to create report on business case
  • Tracks research expenditures; monitors and manages the budget in consultation with PI
  • Assists with preparation of manuscript/s for publication
  • Assists in providing training, scheduling, and problem-solving support for SAB, BAB, technology and scientific partners and various other stakeholders
  • Works cooperatively with project team members on other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Experience conducting and/or coordinating grant-funded research projects
  • Interest in women's reproductive health and artificial intelligence/machine learning
  • Experience with stakeholder management, data collection and project management
  • Experience working with or advocating for women's reproductive health issues in professional, non-profit, or research settings
  • Excellent verbal and strong written communication skills
  • Access to a strong WiFi signal for the project duration
  • Careful attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing and assembling periodic grants reporting
  • Flexibility and eagerness to learn
  • Ability to coordinate and organize all components of a research study
  • Ability to research and resolve problems associated with the completion of a study involving multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and manage up when necessary
  • Ability to anticipate project deviations and work with project team to mitigate these
  • Proficiency in general computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word/Excel, email, and internet-based research)
  • Proficiency in tracking and logging communications for managing communications to project stakeholders and main project team (i.e. experience using Slack and CRM software, etc.)
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., SmartSheet, MS Project)

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Master's degree in public health, Women's, Sexuality and/or Gender Studies, or similar advanced applied science or social science training focusing on women's reproductive health
  • Experience working in a highly professional capacity with scientific, research, technology, global health partners, Boards, and/or business stakeholders
  • Interest or experience working in reproductive health, public health regarding sexuality issues, or conducting global women's health program evaluations or interventions
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with artificial intelligence and scientific/patent research
  • Formal training in Project Management
  • Project Management Profession (PMP) certification or related certificate training
  • Proficiency in scientific literature review synthesis


Additional Information:

SALARY AND BENEFITS

This is a two-year grant funded contract position at 20 hours per week, $20,000.00 annually and is not benefit eligible

Working Conditions -- Duties are primarily remote.
