  • Supply Quality: The Senior Analyst reviews supplier and raw material documentation, assures compliance to the company's specifications, facilitates the supplier and raw material approval and review program, and provides assistance with other Supply & Customer Quality functions, as needed.


  • Gather, review, and file supplier and raw material documentation using various tools and systems.
  • Review and approve supplier and raw material documentation for Balchem.
  • Initiate supplier and raw material documentation requests, with assistance of Supply Chain as may be needed, or through TraceGains.
  • Conduct and document hazard analyses and regulatory review for new ingredients and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Commercial, R&D, Regulatory, Operations, as well as greater Supply and Customer Quality Team to ensure that food quality and food safety, customer, company, and regulatory needs are met for raw materials and products to be produced.
  • Development of Purchasing and Internal specifications for raw materials.
  • Assistance with raw material certification program requirements for ingredients used in Balchem, including, but not limited to FoodChainID, RSPO, organic, kosher, and halal. Assistance with oversight of certification programs within other businesses as needed.
  • Assist with vendor SCAR program.
  • Assist with supplier audit program.
  • Assist with new product commercialization process.
  • Independent projects, as assigned by Program Manager or Senior Manager
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis investigations.
  • Recording, tracking, and reporting of appropriate KPIs.
  • Utilize systems and tools that may include TraceGains, USP/FCC, HorizonScan, internal systems, and others.
  • Champion continuous improvement and best practice programs for Supply and Customer Quality activities and functions.
  • Participate in Change Control and, when appropriate, Customer Notification
  • Provide support for wider Supply and Customer Quality, Operational Quality, and Regulatory teams as may be needed from time to time.
  • Responsible for escalating major quality or regulatory issues and any incidents affecting food safety or regulatory status to Balchem leadership.
  • Uses effective negotiation skills to resolve conflict and drive alignment.
  • Works effectively with team and cross functional partners.
  • Coordination with Supply Quality, Quality Systems, and Operational Quality to ensure compliance with certification program requirements for products produced by Balchem, including, but not limited to FoodChainID, RSPO, organic, kosher, and halal. Assistance with certification programs within other businesses as needed.
  • Keeps up-to-date on applicable regulations and pending changes in regulations.
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records and databases.
  • Provides coverage in the absence of other Supply and Customer Quality staff.
  • Performs all other duties as requested by management staff.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures of the corporation.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, or related field is preferred.
  • Coursework or certificate:
    • Supply Quality: PCQI, HACCP
    • Customer Quality: US food regulations, Codex Alimentarius, foreign food regulations
    • Prior experience may be considered in lieu of formal coursework or certificates.
  • 1-3 years prior experience in food or dietary supplement quality or regulatory affairs.
  • Prior experience may be considered in lieu of formal coursework or certificates.
  • Computer proficiency should include word processing, creation of spreadsheets and forms, and utilizing the internet to research various topics.


  • Work is moderately sedentary; repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers when operating computer keyboard.
  • Operates typical office equipment.
  • Works inside and outside the office atmosphere.
