Sr Associate Scientist - Cardio-metabolic DisordersLiveWhat you will doLet's do this. Let's change the world. The Cardiometabolic Disorders department at Amgen in South San Francisco is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join our drug discovery research team in South San Francisco. In this vital role you will play a pivotal role on the team, developing and performing assays using a wide range of cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology techniques to characterize the pathophysiology of cardio-metabolic diseases.
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary cross-functional team, collaborate with scientists of diverse expertise, and contribute to projects at both early and late stages of drug discovery. The science-based, patient-first environment at Amgen provides the platform for the successful candidate to reach their full potential and apply scientific expertise to benefit patients with grievous diseases in need of innovative medicines.
Position Responsibilities - Advancing Amgen's scientific objectives through laboratory-based experimentation and collaboration
- Design, execute, and optimize cell, protein, and tissue-based experiments
- Independently perform data analysis and interpretation
- Communicate scientific results through written and oral presentations
- Advising colleagues and supervisors in areas of expertise

Basic Qualifications Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 3 years of scientific experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications - Hands-on experience in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related discipline
- Record of independently designing, executing, and analyzing biological experiments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with in vivo animal model development is a plus
