Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Cost Accounting will play a critical role in Revance's Finance organization as we move towards commercialization of the Company's flagship product Daxibotulinumtoxin (DAXI) for injection, adding to the existing product portfolio which includes Teoxane's RHA Collection of dermal fillers. This position reports to the Associate Director of Revenue and Cost Accounting and will work to implement inventory accounting policies, develop and streamline inventory operations, and provide ongoing accounting support relating to inventory, manufacturing and distribution.

In this newly created role, the Senior Manager of Cost Accounting will be heavily involved in implementing new procedures and internal controls and continually look for ways to improve existing processes in inventory and cost accounting operations. This role will collaborate with internal teams including, but not limited to, FP&A, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Information Technology to advocate best practices. Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Lead and proactively participate in the ongoing implementation of inventory systems and related integration including timely resolutions of issues post system implementation.
  • Develop, maintain and update accounting policies, controls and procedures related to inventory cycle.
  • Drive and establish recurring accounting procedures in inventory, including, but not limited to, accounting for variances, valuation, cost allocations, physical inventory, allowances and cut-off during and after pre-launch and post commercialization.
  • Drive period-end accounting close and cross functional coordination to ensure the close is completed timely and accurately.
  • Lead the planning and coordination of annual physical inventory, cycle count, and other alternative procedures over inventory existence across multiple locations as well as related audit coordination.
  • Liaison with internal resources and other third parties in completing significant and complex inventory accounting matters and deliverables.
  • Routine review of purchase orders related to inventoriable costs.
  • Collaborate and interact closely with business partners (whether on-site or remote) as part of information gathering, analysis and communications.
  • Effectively summarize and succinctly communicate inventory accounting matters to various audiences including, but not limited to, senior executives.
  • Maintain quality documentation of internal controls over financial reporting and other required accounting documentation to satisfy internal and audit requirements.
  • Prepare and/or review data and other supporting information requests as needed for audits and reviews conducted by internal and external auditors.
  • Take an active role within the accounting organization to drive goal achievement, while evaluating and recommending other process improvements.
  • Preparation of inventory related disclosures and provide relevant supporting data to the SEC reporting team.
  • May assist in evaluating accounting treatment for transactions related to inventory, researching relevant accounting literature, and drafting technical accounting memorandums, as necessary.
  • Manage with other special projects or activities as needed.


Minimum Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (or equivalent)

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license


Minimum Required:
  • 8+ years of combined relevant experience in industry and public accounting.
  • Extensive experience in inventory operations and cost accounting.
  • Experienced with implementation of new systems or tools and related processes.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley 404 public accounting experience

  • Life sciences and biotechnology industries experience.
  • 4+ years (busy seasons) in public accounting with a "Big Four."
  • Experienced in leading and managing talents.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum Required:
  • Strong knowledge in applying ASC 330, standard cost model, absorption accounting, variance analysis and financial modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge in inventory cost accounting operations and processes
  • Positive, strong work ethic and a team player
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Unquestionable integrity and personal ethics
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize competing projects in high stress situations
  • Ability to communicate with impact both in writing and verbally to a wide range of audiences
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate events, prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Strong Excel and PC skills)

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Experience using other Microsoft Office tools such as Teams, Planner, and Visio
